Frequently Asked Questions: Welcome

How Can We Help?

How do I make an appointment for impressions?

For the fastest response, please text Cristina, the ceramicist, at 949.371.9027. You can also email cristina@wrinklesintime.net. Studio appointments can be arranged for a time that is convenient for you. "In-home" appointments are also available for an additional charge based on the ceramicist's availability and your location.

Can I just show up to your studio to get an impression made?

No. An appointment is required because we need lead time to prepare the clay material needed for impressions. Appointments are taken at our home studio in South Orange County, but we can also go to your location for an "in-home" appointment for an additional charge based on your location.

What is the process like and how long will it take to get my product?

From the day of an initial impression appointment, the estimated turnaround time to receive the finished product is 8 to 10 weeks. First, impressions are made in wet clay and then they are left to dry for a few weeks. Second, the dry clay impression is fired in the kiln for 24 to 48 hours in which the clay turns into ceramic. Next, the glaze is applied to the ceramic and allowed to dry over the course of a week, and finally the glazed ceramic is fired in the kiln again for 24 to 48 hours to produce the finished product. Sometimes, weather conditions (i.e., wet weather and extreme heat) and energy emergencies to which California is prone can delay drying and firing times. Of course, if your product can be finished and delivered before the maximum lead time of 10 weeks, we will do our best to do so. If there is a delay that affects your product, we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know.

Do you ever do events where I can walk up and get an impression made?

Yes! We participate in several pop-up events throughout the year around Orange County, California. Please check our events page for updates.
